True Conversion
True conversion happens when you turn from of your sins and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ in faith and trust.
For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God. [1Thes 1.9]
Repentance: You must confess and forsake your sins (turn from them).
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. [Proverbs 28.13]
…except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. [Luke 13.3]
Faith: You must trust in the Lord Jesus Christ (and Him only) to save you.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. [Ephesians 2.8-9]
Conversion: The result of a true conversion (repentance and faith) is a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. You no longer follow sin and self, but rather you follow the Lord in whatever He says regardless of what men think or say.
If you are unsure you are saved, just ask yourself some simple, Bible-based questions:
Do you live in habitual sin?
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. [1John 3.9]
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? [Romans 6.1-2]
Do you seek to obey God’s word?
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. [1John 2.3]
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? [Luke 6.46]
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. [John 14.21]
Do you love others, including Christians?
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. [1John 4.7]
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. [1John 3.15]
Do you love this world?
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. [1John 2.15]
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. [James 4.4]
Please examine yourself.
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? [2 Corinthians 13.5]
It is not sufficient to merely call Jesus Lord, there must be accompanying obedience because true, saving faith produces visible fruit.
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? [Luke 6.46]
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him… He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. [1John 2.4-6]
Please, surrender unconditionally to Christ as Lord today and escape the wrath of God!
